William Oliver Doctor - Inventor - History of Bath

William Oliver was responsible for the creating part of the Mineral hospital. He was the chief Physician in 1740 and continued to practice there almost 21 years.
His great claim to fame is the
invention of the Oliver biscuit, which he prescribed for his patients under his dietary treatment included in the drinking of the mineral waters of Bath. The Oliver biscuit is still made under his recipe till this day.
A plaque
can be found at what was once the reference library in Queen Square where his house was demolished in 1830
